Nature Tours in Israel
The Land of Israel is packed with nature trails. Some of them are protected as Nature Reserve sites. Other are managed by KKL (JNF, Jewish National Fund). And many are simply left to nature. There are easy hikes for family with young children and more difficult trails.
Galilee and Carmel Tours
We can hike in the morning along the Carmel coast or follow streams in the Carmel heights. Most of the beautiful Galilee hikes are in the North, such as along Kziv and Betzet streams. Most of these hikes require some logistics planning because the departure and arrival points would not be the same.
Otherwise for circular hikes, I can take you at the summit of Mt Meiron (the highest mount in Israel, not counting the Hermon). If you want to do a family hike in a Nature Reserve, we can go to the Tel Dan, Banyas or the Hulah Reserve. If you'd like to walk in a stream, there's the Snir/Hatzbani or Madjrasa hikes.
Coast and Center Tours
The best coast trails are mostly along the rivers that flow west towards the sea, such as Alexander, Poleg and Yarkon. In the center of the country, you have other choices mostly in the hilly parts, whether in the Judean Lowlands (Shfela) or the Judean and Jerusalem Mounts. They are best done in Spring time when it is the blossoming season.
My personal favourites include Sataf near Jerusalem (down to the Soreq valley) and Soba (uphill to the Crusader fort).
Desert and South Tours
Winter streams have carved out beautiful canyons in the desert over the past million years, which are popular areas to hike.
The Judean desert offers the hardest and deepest canyons such as Dragot, but also beautiful easier ones such as in the reserve of Ein Gedi or in the Salvadora canyon.
In the Negev, there are known hikes such as Avdat or inside and around the three geological craters (makhteshim).
In the Arava, we can do canyons such as Tamar in the North, or Amram and Timna in the South.
