CHRONOLOGY OF JEWISH HISTORY
Generation 49: Hebrew years 5760-5880 (2000-2120 CE)

Introduction
With the start of the 49th chronological generation in secular year 2000 CE, the world has entered the last generation before the ultimate 50th Jubilee of generations that will mark the messianic era. The 49th generation is thus a pre-messianic era, and world events unfold to confirm it.
Year 5761 – 2001 CE – Year of Jubilee
The date of 11 September 2001 was marked by the terror attack on the US cities of New York and Washington, with four airplanes that were hijacked by Islamist terrorists and directed to crash on public buildings in these cities. The date in Hebrew calendar was 23 Elul 5761, a week short before the start of the Jewish new year 5762. It seems that the author of the Zohar had even predicted such event:
While some of these things were fulfilled at that time and some later, while some are left for the Messiah. We have learnt that God will one day build Jerusalem and display a certain fixed star flashing with seventy streamers and seventy flames in the midst of the firmament, and it will shine and flash for seventy days. It will appear on the sixth day of the week on the 25th [day] of the sixth month and will disappear on the 7th day after seventy days. On the first day it will be seen in the city of Rome, and on that day three lofty walls of that city shall fall and a mighty palace shall be overthrown, and the ruling of that city shall die. Then that star will be visible throughout the whole world. In that time mighty wars will arise in all quarters of the world, and no faith shall be found among men. (Zohar, Balak 212b)
The sixth month is the month of Elul, starting from Nisan being the first month for the count of Hebrew months. As the 25th day of a month can never fall on the 6th day (Shabbat eve) of a week, some commentators have explained that the text of the Zohar was referring to the 23rd day and not the 25th day. And this explains the three lofty walls of that city will fall as the attack on the Twin Towers in New York and the Pentagon building in Washington DC, Rome being a reference to the Western world in general. The attack change the way the terrorist world looked at America (the modern Rome) and no longer considered it as invincible, thus saying the ruling of that city shall die.
Coincidentally, the Hebrew year 5761 was the year that ended seven cycles of Sabbatical years since the adoption of the year 1952 as the first Sabbatical year since the creation of the State of Israel. There are indeed 49 years between 1952 and 2001, thus seven Sabbatical cycles of seven years each. So, the end of these seven cycles was marked by the attack on the USA, and the new year 5762 opened the new era of the so-called War on Terror, which saw the Western world waging war against Islamist militancy, with the upcoming invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq notably. The term "War on Terror" was used by the US President Bush for the first time publicly on 20 September 2001 (3 Tishri 5762).
The star mentioned in the Zohar may refer to the rise of Jihadist movements (Al-Qaeda, ISIS, etc.) whose actions will be visible throughout the whole world. This star will shine and flash for at least 70 days, which may refer to years of intermittent ordeals it will create in the world, thus ending not earlier than year 2072 CE (Hebrew year 5832). The seventy streamers and seventy flames in the midst of the firmament may refer to the 70 nations of the Biblical world, thus saying the terror ordeal will affect the entire world. Strangely this passage of Zohar is in Balak 212b, and 212 is the area code of New York in the telephone directory.
But, as a reminder, this cycle of Sabbatical was reset from the year 1952, so the counting of Sabbatical years is now counted from that secular year in the modern State of Israel (see document C48d, year 1952). But, counting from the time when the cycles were first established in the land of Canaan, following Joshua's conquest, the count started in Hebrew year 2500 (see document C21c), and the counting started with a first Jubilee cycle of 7x7 years. So, if we follow the counting from Joshua, the next Jubilee years would have been in the Hebrew years 5800 (66th Jubilee in year 2040 CE), 5850 (67th Jubilee in year 2090 CE), and so on. But this Jubilee counting was abolished after the destruction of the Second Temple. Today only remains the counting of Sabbatical years, counted from the secular year 1952.
This terrorist attack can be considered as the turning point when the world started to realise that there was a threat from radical Islam and, as a result, started to engage against the Islamic groups who were suspected of dealing with terror. This situation echoes the very ancient predictions that were told to Sarah, the mother of Ishmael, before his birth:
And he [Ishmael] shall be a wild ass of a man: his hand shall be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the face of all his brethren. (Genesis 16:12)
Furthermore, the Zohar even mentioned the name of the person who is associated with this turning point, when the forces of radical Islam started to become of concern for the world. Indeed, a parable commenting on II Samuel 23:20 (also in I Chronicles 11:22), he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow, and using the image of animals, mentions the following:
All the dogs kept themselves out of sight, fearing to venture abroad. But when sin prevailed, He descended to the regions here below and slew that lion [which was keeping the prey of the Temple for himself], not desiring any more to provide his portion as formerly. He, as it were, slew him: "He smote the lion", most assuredly, "into the pit", that is to say, in the sight of the "evil monster". The same evil monster, seeing this, sent a dog to consume the offerings. The name of the lion is Orie-l (אוריא"ל), as his face is that of a lion [Arieh in Hebrew], and the name of the dog is Bel-aden (בלאדן), for it is not a man at all, but a dog and has the face of a dog. (Zohar, Prologue 6b)
The word Beladan is formed of Bel which means the negative 'No/Not', and aden which is explained as "not a man" by changing the N into M. We can find this change of similar letter (M to N) in other texts, such as the famous one of Talmud Esther about GERMAMIA to really mean GERMANIA as the cause of the Holocaust. It is striking that, in the case of this text from the Zohar, the name of the terrorist, Bin Laden, was inferred to some 2000 years before he came to existence.
The interpretation of this obscure passage from the Zohar can be as follows. After the destruction of the Temple, Rome (the Western civilisation) had the upper hand on the matters of the world and kept this control as a lion keeps its own prey. It is also the West that has given to the Jews the right to return to their land. But then, the West weakened. As soon as the Axis of Evil (the "evil monster" mentioned in the Zohar) saw this happening, it wanted to take the portion that the lion kept and, for this purpose, sent the dog called Bin-Laden to shake the lion's confidence. Since that moment, the descendance of Ishmael has risen in the world and there will be no way of stopping it until the time of the Messiah. Unlike other nations who wanted to convert Jews into their laws and religion, the goal of radical Islam is to kill all the Jews and eradicate the name of Israel, before dealing against Christians as well and finally impose Islam on all the earth. Even King David, who dwelt with the Philistines, later regretted it:
Woe is me, that I sojourn with Meshech (מֶשֶׁךְ), that I dwell beside the tents of Kedar!
My soul has full long had her dwelling with him that has peace.
I am all peace; but when I speak, they are for war. (Psalms, 120:5-7)
Year 5769 – 2009 CE – Birth of the Messiah
For some Jewish scholars, the Messiah came to existence in the decade starting in 5760 (which is Hebrew year תש''ס where the letter ס represents סוף, meaning "end"), which could be any year up to the end of that decade, in Hebrew year 5769 (2009 CE). Of course, the time of his revelation to the world is not set yet and is not known to any human being. Let's recall that Moses was revealed to his people as their leader to redemption from slavery at the age of 80. This belief about the birth of Messiah is corroborated with the fact that, every time in Jewish History, when evil or good is about to happen, the contrary is also born to be a response to it. Here, when the Muslims rose against "Edom" (i.e. the Western civilization) in 2001, the seed of Messiah may have come to life at the same time or decade.
Year 5769 – 2009 CE – The era of Obama
On that same year, a man of African origin, Barack Obama, became President of the USA for the first time in the history of this major world power. Since his election however, instead of bringing a wave of new hopes and a reduction of conflicts in human societies, the world has witnessed a number of political disruptions and a sharper rise of terror. The following Biblical proverb may have applied to this era:
The Earth quakes... when a "slave" reigns...--- Proverbs 30:21-22
The word slave can be understood as a descendant of Ham, the ancestor of the African people, because Ham had been cursed by his father Noah to be a slave for his brothers (Genesis 9:25-27). If we look at Jewish history, who were the people associated with the most evil done to the Jews? It started 3800 years ago with Nimrod who, at the time of Abraham, had caused the first massive wars between city states and the construction of the Tower of Babel to defy God (see document C17, year 1764 BCE). Nimrod had Ham as an ancestor because he was the son of Cush who was the son of Ham (Genesis 10:6-8). And he nearly destroyed Abraham, the only man who walked in God's way. Then, next, came Jeroboam, the son of a servant/slave to King Solomon (see document C24, year 989 BCE), who ultimately caused the kingdom of the Israelites to split into two, and who ruled over 10 out of 12 Tribes of Israel in the so-called Kingdom of Israel. Then came Haman, the obscure minister of Ahasuerus who suddenly, out of nowhere, became his first vizier and aimed to destroy the Jewish people (see document C28, year 484 BCE). Who's next? Hitler, who was the son of a maid, also of obscure family origin, and who drove the world into the catastrophic WW-II and caused the Holocaust for the Jewish people. Was Obama the next slave who will cause the Earth to quake? For sure he will be remembered in hacing changed the system of alliances in his foreign policy, to have given too much room to Iran to create their nuclear program and expand its control over other nations (Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, etc.) through proxy states. And above all, Obama tried to side-line the State of Israel.
Year 5774 – 2014 CE – Russia takes over Crimea
The Crimea peninsula was annexed to Russia on 16 March 2014 (Purim 5774) following a referendum. On his deathbed, the Vilna Gaon would have declared to his followers:
When you hear that the Russians have captured the city of Crimea, you should know that the times of the Messiah have started, that his steps are being heard. And when you hear that the Russians have reached the city of Constantinople [today’s Istanbul], you should put on your Shabbat clothes and don’t take them off, because it means that the Messiah is about to come any minute. (Vilna Gaon's prophecy, for more details, click here)
Many people believe that the war between Russia and Ukraine, which started in February 2014 when Ukraine announced its intent to join NATO and the EU, is another sign of pre-messianic times. The immediate result of this conflict is that the West has soured its ties with Russia who, in turn, decided on a new foreign policy towards supporting Iran and their nuclear program. Vilna Gaon, who lived at an age where weapons were not of the nature of mass destruction as they have become today, had also told his followers that the last war will last 9 minutes (or 12 minutes according to other sources) ! Nobody could possibly comprehend that a war of his times would last so short a time, but today we can well understand that nuclear weapons could achieve this prophecy.
Year 5774 – 2014 CE – Attack on Israel
The recent decade has witnessed continuous attacks from the Gaza Strip to Israel, through the means of rockets and missiles. In this conflict, in July 2014, about 3000 rockets have been fired to Israel, especially in the Southern part of the country. Below is a map of the places where these rockets were directed on the single morning of 23 July 2014:
The defence system used by Israel against this aerial attack is called Kipat Barzel, which is commonly translated in English as "Iron Dome" but, in Hebrew, it really means an Iron "Yarmulke". A yarmulke is nothing but a material piece, but it has the spiritual significance to connect with God. Similarly, the Iron Dome, although being very efficient materially, only stops about 25% of the rockets, and doesn't prevent anyway the rocket debris from falling from the skies and hit at urban zones and populations. And yet, there has been nearly no casualty from such attacks and debris, as if God indeed protected His people. Even one Muslim militant seemed to believe that there must be some divine protection which he thinks is the only explanation for such few casualties upon Israel:
Year 5775 – 2015 CE – The turning point
The year 5775 AM was a special year because of the numbers 5 and 7 making up that year, both related to God (for Jewish symbolism of the numbers, click here). Special doesn't necessarily mean good. But it means significant for the course of the world and of Israel. Already the past combinations of 5 and 7 in the number of a year brought special milestones, especially related to the return to Zion or to the ingathering of the Jews in their ancestral land. For example, the years 5557, 5575 and 5577 mark turning points when Jews of Europe started to be divided between the return to Zion, especially after the death of the Vilna Gaon who promoted such return (see document 47a, Hebrew year 5557), and an assimilation caused by the liberalism after Napoleon's demise and accompanying emancipation trends (see document C47b).
Most of the Jews embraced emancipation and started to be successful in business, culture, academia, and so on, which, in another hand, caused the emergence of antisemitism, not related to the traditional religious differences (see example in document 47b, year 1819).
Then, closer to our times, the Hebrew year 5756 was marked by the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli Prime Minister (see document C48d, year 1995), and by the start of the Jihad against America (see document C48d, year 1996). Two new elements have entered the reality of the new world.
Nuclear power in the wrong hands
In the summer 2015/5775, under the drive of Obama, the world signed a deal with Iran that allowed them to continue develop nuclear capability and they unlocked funds that were frozen and estimated to be over 100 Billion US dollars. The issue is that Iran is a Shiite state which is viewed by the rest of Muslim world, which is 90% Sunni, as 'heretic'. The conflict between Shia and Sunni Islam is not new. So, major Sunni state, such as Saudi Arabia, had stated that, if Iran would be afforded nuclear capability, they too will get it. So, this year 2015 marks the turning point from a world which allowed nuclear power at the hands of radical and dictatorial states, even religiously fanatic. So, since 2015/5775, the world is seeding the cause of its potential future violent demise. And there are exactly 70 years between the summer 1945 (Hiroshima) and the summer 2015 (nuclear Iran). And, we have seen in these documents that 70 has special significance from the Jewish point of view (for Jewish symbolism in the numbers, click here). The number 70 was also the redemption of the Jewish people from their exile in Babylon (symbol of the Western civilization), which was made possible by Cyrus (Persia). So it does seem that the year 2015/5775 could mark the start of the new, and ultimate, redemption for the Jews.
Muslims massively migrate to Europe
In the summer of 2015, the number of migrants to the European Union from Muslim countries at war drastically increased. This number, for the first nine months of 2015, was of about half a million, for those who could be accounted. Many others managed to cross into Europe before the authorities started to realize there was an issue. Since 2015, Muslim immigration has become the largest migration crisis since World War II. Last but not least, it was estimated that about 2% of these migrants were radicalized Muslims: it is a small percentage but, considering the large number of migrants, this would make 10,000 "dormant" terrorists who settled in Europe in 2015.
As a result of the uncontrolled immigration into Europe, Britain carried out a referendum in 2016 to vote for its exit from the E.U. ("Brexit").
Year 5776 – 2015 CE – Russia in the Levant
One indirect result of the migrant’s crisis was the arrival of Russia in the Levant region, under disguise of helping the Syrian regime of President Assad to fight the threat from the Islamist State (ISIS, a.k.a Daesh). As a first step, the Russians took control of the main Syrian harbour of Latakia (the ancient Laodicea) with ships and war airplanes, with the intent to supply Assad with modern weaponry (to read a report, click here). The side result of it was that Hezbollah, which was engaged in the Syrian civil war by helping Assad, declared that they will on move out of Syria. As a token of "gratitude", Assad promised to provide Russian tanks to Hezbollah who, like never before, has built an army within Lebanon, able to topple the puppet regime in that country and take control of it if needed. This is what Assad wanted (as Syria could not control Lebanon themselves, their Hezbollah ally was the next best option), and what Iran wanted (Hezbollah is the Shiite militia, so their control will create a Shiite state of Lebanon). With the presence of Russia in the Levant, we can only recall the prophecy mentioned above (see year 2014).
Year 5776 – 2016 CE – Mortality vs. Natality in the EU
For the first time in Europe, mortality rate exceeded natality rate in July 2016. This means that the population in Europe is ageing and in decline. In countries where immigration is high, such as France, the trend is not as such.
Year 5777 – 2016 CE – The U.N. vote against Israel
The 5777 is a year when Christmas falls on the same day as Hannukah. It should have been a year of joint joy. Yet, two days before the 24th of December 2016, the U.N. Security Council passed a resolution against Israel. It is no surprise that the U.N. wants to pass such resolutions, as many of them are turned against Israel because this world institution has been taken "hostage" of Arab lobby. As a result, the U.N. fails to condemn undemocratic and human rights violating regimes but focuses its efforts against Israel. Indeed, most of the U.N. resolutions are only directed against Israel and even the previous U.N. Secretary General had admitted it in this very time:
'Decades of political manoeuvring have created a disproportionate number of resolutions, reports and committees against Israel,' says Ban Ki-moon. (article in The Independent, 16 December 2016)
This vote, just before Christmas/Hannukah, was made possible because, unlike past votes at the Security Council, the US representative was directed from Obama to abstain from preventing this resolution to pass.
Coincidentally or not, the week the resolution passed was the week when the Torah weekly reading portion was Vayislach. In this text, Jacob (Israel) finally returned to the land of his father after 20 years of exile in Haran (20 years is symbolic to 2000 years of exile) but was confronted by his brother Esau (Edom, the Christian world). Before this encounter that could have turned into slaughter for Jacob's clan, the spirit of Esau took form of an angel who fought against Jacob during the entire night. But Jacob survived the ordeal. When Jacob met Esau the next morning, the encounter was peaceful against all expectations. Accompanying this Torah portion comes the Haftarah text which is the short book of Obadiah the Prophet. Why is it related to the above weekly portion? Because Obadiah was a convert from Edom and because his vision is about what will happen to Esau/Edom in the End of Days... The opening of the book is:
The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord God concerning Edom: We have heard a message from the Lord, and an ambassador is sent among the nations: 'Arise you and let us rise up against her [Israel] in battle.' (Obadiah 1:1)
This text reminds of the UN vote situation: an ambassador (of the US) is sent among the nations (the UN institution) to push a vote against Israel. In the final part of the book, Obadiah prophesises that because Esau/Edom did not come to the help of his brother Jacob and rather wished to destroy him, so will God punish Esau/Edom in the End of Days even though he made his nest as high as the eagle's [symbol of the USA and of strong empires in general]. How will this punishment happen? From within...
All the men of your confederation have conducted you to the border [to defend yourself]; the men that were at peace with you have betrayed you and prevailed against you; they that eat your bread lay a snare under you, and you had no discernment. (Obadiah 1:7)
The trouble came from Teman/Yemen (Obadiah 1:9) which is a reminder of the Muslim world who pushed Edom to this UN resolution and who will finally betray Edom. Obadiah further prophesises:
For the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off for ever. (Obadiah 1:10)
Year 5777 – 2017 CE – The 70 Nations gather against Israel
The year 2017 started with a conference in Paris expecting to gather "70 Nations" (to read the news, click here). The conference's aim is to restart the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians but neither of them were invited to attend it. Instead, as it can be expected when too many nations gather to decide on anything such as in the UN Assembly, observers expected the conference to be nothing more than a repeat of condemnations towards Israel as if it was the sole obstacle against peace. Yet Israel has repeatedly stated that it is willing to have face-to-face direct negotiations with the Palestinians, but they had repeatedly refused to do so in the past, preferring antagonism by raising the rest of the world to support their cause. Why would the Palestinians refuse direct negotiations? Because they already put impossible conditions for "peace" which can be summarized in three points: (1) they want a Palestinian State with no Jew living in it, (2) they agree to a State of Israel living next to them as long as it is not a "Jewish" state, (3) they want the "right to return" to Israel for some one million Palestinians. In other words, this is not a roadmap to peace but rather a temporary path to gain back all the land of Israel, first by owning a Jew-free State of Palestine and second by using demographics to eventually overcome the number of Jews in the State of Israel. Today, in the 2020's, the Palestinian cause has radicalized further. They no longer want a two-state solution and their motto has been repeated in every public display: "From the river to the sea"... meaning they don't want a State of Israel in a land they consider it to be 100% theirs. The peace talks have reached a policial deadlock.
For other observers, the concept of "70 Nations" is anchored in the Bible and represent "all the nations of the world" besides Israel (see document C16). In centuries-old beliefs, the whole world will eventually gang up against the Jews (Israel) at the End of Days, before the venue of the Messiah. So this conference, announced as the symbolic "70 Nations" gathering, seems to be the prelude to the events that will unfold in a not-so-distant future. It is no surprise that the Hebrew number of that year is 5777, with a combination of 5 and 7.
Soon after the above conference, in January 2017, Donald Trump took office as 45th President of the United States after having won the elections. The US policy towards Israel started to take a new turn.
Year 5778 – 2017 CE – USA recognizes Jerusalem as capital of Israel
On the 6th of December 2017 (which was nighttime in Israel so equivalent to the start of date 19 Kislev 5778), US President Donald Trump, who also started office in this special year of 2017, formally accepted the decision of the US Congress passed 22 years before about recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel. This decision was historical since he could have used a waiver that all his predecessors have used since this resolution of the Congress. Trump asked his administration to start works for moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, with a plan to do it by end 2019.
Some see a pattern related to Jerusalem in the special years 1917, 1967 and 2017, separated by 50 years one to another (50 is also the number of years of a Jubilee cycle):
in 1917, the Muslim rule over Jerusalem ended when the British forces took the city,
in 1967, the Israeli forces took the Old City of Jerusalem,
in 2017, the most powerful nation accepted that Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish State; their decision created a trend and was followed by other countries; as of 2025, over 20 countries have followed the U.S. decision
Coincidence or not, a memo was written on the same day of 19 Kislev by Ben-Gurion regarding this issue debated at the Knesset a few days earlier. In this memo, he wrote:
Israel's position on the question of Jerusalem came to me as clear and final during the Knesset on the 14th of Kislev (5.12.49) by the government and all the factions in the Knesset. Jerusalem is an inseparable part of the State of Israel and its eternal capital. No vote at the UN would change this historical position. Dated: 19 Kislev (10.12.49) --- transcript of the memo below.
Is there a new development looming in 2067, 50 years after 2017?
Year 5778 – 2018 CE – Israel reveals the true Iranian nuclear program
On the 1st of May 2018, PM Benjamin Netanyahu revealed to the world the Iranian nuclear program, far from being civilian as they claimed. However this public disclosure didn't have the expected result everywhere in the world, but Trump announced on 8 May 2018 that he will pull the US out of the Iranian nuclear deal.
Year 5779 – 2018 CE – Jewish new year 5779
According to some Jewish scholars, the year 5779 marks the end of the severity of God towards His people, because the 5779th verse of the Torah (the Hebrew Bible) points to the verse of Deut. 32:34 which says: 'Is not this laid up in store with Me, sealed up in My treasuries? This verse concludes the speech of Moses who stated the divine threats towards the people of Israel in case they would walk away from His commandments. And right after these threats, God reassured His people by the voice of Moses about His vengeance to be followed by His recompense (His treasuries). So, it seems that the new Jewish year marks the time when God would start to take Israel's destiny in His own hands, until He will action the Messiah.
In that same Jewish year of 5779, Benjamin Netanyahou won his 5th election as Prime Minister and, on 20th July 2019, became the longest serving prime minister of Israel, with 4876 days in office, more than the previous record held by David Ben Gurion.
Year 5780 – 2020 CE – World pandemic
At the end of year 2019, rumours started of an epidemic called Covid-19 in Asia. It claimed its first death Europe in early 2020. Israel immediately took the unprecedented measure to shut its air traffic as early as February 2020. A month later, the WHO (World Health Organization) acknowledged it was a pandemic. Immediately research to find a vaccine started. The broad scale vaccination program started in Israel in January 2021, and a few months later in the rest of Europe. The pandemic caused world havoc for about two years until 2022 when the travel conditions eased up.
Year 5780 – 2020 CE – Abraham Accords
With Trump's initiative to bring Arab nations to make peace with Israel, under the umbrella of so-called Abraham Accords, UAE and Bahrain were the first two to sign peace with Israel on 15 September 2020 (Herew date 26 Elul 5780), a couple of days before the Jewish new year of 5781.
Morocco joined the Abraham Accords on 13 December 2020.
Year 5784 – 2023 CE – The massacres of October 7
During the Shabbat (Saturday) of Simchat Torah Jewish festival, Hamas carried out a savage attack on all the Israeli communities close to the Gaza Strip. The timing coincided with the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur war of October 1973. The prime motive of Hamas' leader was to derail the ongoing normalization talks between Saudi and Israel under the Abraham Accords. But the attack was planned many months in advance. It revealed a major intelligence failure on the side of Israel who had adopted the assumption that Hamas was more keen to remain in power rather than starting a large scale conflict against Israel (the last one took place in 2014).
The severity of the attack, the number of Israeli casualties of all ages, the barbarism of the attackers, pushed Israel to react with a strong hand against Hamas, and wage an urban war against Islamic militants who hid in tunnels, under schools, hospitals, UN compounds, etc. To read more about this attack, click here.
Israel had to wage war on seven fronts in parallel:
against Hamas who triggered the war,
against Hezbollah in Lebanon who started to shoot rockets in support of Hamas, against the Houthis in Yemen who also started to shoot long range missiles at Israel,
against Iranian bases in Syria which provided logistical support to Hezbollah and also launched rockets towards Israel,
against the Shia militancy groups in Iraq who helped Iran prepare a war against Israel,
against Iran itself who was closing in the production of enough uranium to build many nuclear bombs (Israel and the US both attacked the Iranian nuclear facilities)
against the Palestinian militant groups who carried out several attacks against Israeli civilians in order to open a new front against Israel.
Year 5784 – 2024 CE – Elimination of Hamas leaders
Israel successfully eliminated the Hamas leaders who took the decision of the October 7 attack:
Ismail Haniyeh: chairman of political bureau, killed in Tehran on 31.07.2024
Yahya Sinwar: leader in Gaza Strip, killed in the Gaza Strip on 16.10.2024
Mohammed Deif: military commander, killed in the Gaza Strip on 13.07.2024
Marwan Issa: deputy military commander, killed in the Gaza Strip on 10.03.2024
Year 5784 – 2024 CE – The "Black September" of Hezbollah
September 2024 was a "black" month for Hezbollah when Israel succesfully carried out military operations to destabilize the Iranian Shia proxies in Lebanon:
17.09: famous attack of the beepers: ~2000 casualties?
18.09: following attack of the radios
20.09: elimination of Aqil, head of the Radwan force in Beirut
24.09: elimination of Ibrahim Kabisi, head of the missiles program
26.09: elimination of Muhammad Sarur, head of the drones program
27.09: elimination of Hassan Nasrallah, emblematic head of Hezbollah
These military successes opened the hope that Lebanon would be able, at last, to regain its sovereignty and disarm the rest of Hezbollah, but this didn't happen. And this situation may trigger a needed field operation of Israel in South Lebanon to drive north (beyond the Litani river, in application of UN Resolution 1701) all Hezbollah and other militancy groups away from its borders.
Year 5785 – 2024 CE – The collapse of Assad regime
In December 2024, Assad and his family fled Syria and found refuge in Russia. The country fell to the rebels who had waged a civil war against Assad regime for many years. Since Russia left their positions in Syria and since Hezbollah (who supported loyal Syrian troops) left Syria to deal with their conflict against Israel, the Syrian rebels took the opportunity to take over the country. Damascus fell on the 8th of December 2024 and this ended the Assad family rule after 54 years. The new Syrian regime seems more open to dialogue with the US and Israel.
Year 5785 – 2025 CE – Israel at 77
On the 1st of May 5785, Israel celebrated its 77th anniversary year since its creation in May 1948. The Israeli population just exceeded 10 million people of which about 76% Jews and 21% Muslims. Some people assume that, due to mislading numbers in the Diaspora, Israel has now passed the 50% mark of the world Jewry (although the official number is beloe 50%).
The number 77 is written with twice the number 7, which echoes a divine plan (for Jewish symbolism of the numbers, click here). But 7+7= 14 which is the number for the name David in Hebrew (דוד) who is the ancestor of the Messiah. The number 77 and the name David in Hebrew are palindromes, i.e. they can be read from right to left, and from left to right. The name of David's father, Jesse, is written ישי in Hebrew and is also a palindrome. These details tend to show that the year 5785 is a special year.
Year 5785 – 2025 CE – The 12-days war Israel-Iran
Donald Trump was reelected President of USA and tookd office as the 47th president in January 2025. In June 2025, he agreed with Israel to strike Iran about their nuclear program which was accelerated since the war started between Israel and Hamas. This conflict against Iran only lasted 12 days after Israel essentially controlled the skies of Iran. Both Israel and the US were then able to target the Iranian facilities of nuclear development and stockage. On 24 June 2025, a ceasefire was put in place.
Year 5785 – 2025 CE – The raise of Antisemitism
The Israel-Hamas conflict, which is still ongoing at present as long as Hamas refuses to disarm, has also raised antisemitism in the world to a level unseen since the dark years of the 1930's and the raise on Nazism. Many Jews of diaspora now feel unwelcome, and even in danger, on their host country and are considering leaving to Israel and elsewhere.
